 Hi!

  I just send the first invitations for early access to the API.

  It is iteration 0 (something that works more or less).

  In the API demo page you can see the script file "FaceAlt.js". 

  It's the first API attempt for JavaScript.

  During next week I'll upload the Python API.

  The algorithm to detect faces is in very early stage. 

  (I know, I know, many false negative ratio, time to time)

  It's based in the OpenCV Haar Cascade. I'll set up a github too.

   About the SaaS, the software is C++ native code using FastCGI as interface. 

   I'm use nginx as front-end server.

   This is just beginning!

Hi!

Thanks for the effort! 

I'm doing my PhD on 3D faces and I'm very interested in a good trained face detector (as it's a key part in many steps of automatic face processing). As my time and resources are limited, I think it's a good idea to collaborate in a project like this instead of building my own detector ;) 

If I can help in anything, I'll be glad to.

  Yes, the idea is to have a good open source face detector.

  For many apps as I develop, only frontal face detect is necessary (profile pic).

  I would like to add an aggresive alternative to detect faces in rotated pictures in the next face alt release.

  If many collaborate on this project we get two things, a good algorithm and a good trained dataset, no?

  Your help and your interest is appreciated, I'm very busy too, but I hope to upload the source code next week.

  I'll send you an email when you are ready for if you want write access.
