pymarc-indexer merge again

I left that last pymarc-indexer merge thread hanging. In it, I had the
following list:

> 1. Tag current trunk with "pre-pymarc-indexer-merge".
> 2. Merge branch.
> 3. Install Helios on my machine again and change documentation where
> needed.
> 4. Fix things that other people notice are broken or missing.

I did 1 a while ago and just got to 2 today. I'll tackle 3 and 4
tomorrow. There were a couple of things that came to mind during the
process, the tickets for which have been filed at the trac instance,
which is now at http://trac.breaksalot.org/fbo (the old url redirects
for now).
