We are proud to announce a 5-Day Scriptwriting Workshop in Pune, December 11-15, 2013, to be conducted by well-known scriptwriter and teacher, Anjum Rajabali, together with guest lecturers Sriram Raghavan, Saket Chaudhary and Shridhar Ragha
van.
Introduction
The last couple of years have proved decisively that if you have a good script, you don’t need stars and big budgets. The audience is happy to be absorbed in a good story, interestingly told, thus making it a successful film.
Indian cinema is experiencing a resurgence, catalyzed by the fresh and courageous work of talented writers. It is no wonder then that all production houses are scrambling for good scripts.
And yet, the challenge of professional competence continues to stand as a big obstacle. Dozens of aspiring writers with new ideas are flooding the Hindi and regional film industries, only to have their scripts rejected, as they do not match professional standards.
The Workshop
This workshop is a step towards filling that gap. Through a series of interactive lectures, the instructors will not only cover all the compelling principles of the screenwriting craft, but they will also bring their own vast experience in the field to the participants. It is aimed at aspiring screenwriters, as well as those who have done some work in the field but wish to upgrade their skills.
Topics covered will include all the basic principles of scriptwriting, plus special sessions to cover Adaptation, Writing for TV, Working With a Director, Pitching your ideas and Narrating your Script to Producers/Directors, Writers Contracts, Legal Aspects and Copyright, and of course on Mythology and its influence on Indian scriptwriting.
