Hi all,
I have not design background and am an inveterate tinkerer at heat who just can't leave things alone as there must be a way to make stuff better!

I just really like the idea of 3D printing and would like to see how far it can be pushed outside an industrial environment and on a shoestring!

At the moment I am trying to decide on whether to build a Mendel90 or go for a Mendel Mono as the Mono has the capability to upgrade to multihead easily.
I was going to get a Prusa but since there are a few already on the go, I don't think that one more adds much to the the local knowledge base, even though building the Prusa would probably be the path of least resistance, or at least it would be after Shane finishes his time lapse :-)

Hi everyone, I'm a friend of Dave's and of Conor's (also posts here). I work in business finance and have an interest in innovation and entrepreneurship. I'm quite excited by desktop 3d printing, and have just bought a reprap with Conor. I'm looking forward to tinkering with it and joining in with the discussions here.

Hi Guys

I'm very new to 3D printing. At the moment I'm in the"trying to get as much info as possible before getting started" phase.

I went to Makeshop on Saturday and talked to the guys there. They said there was a 3D printing workshop taking place in the shop from time to time if enough people showed interest. So hopefully there'll be one soon.

i was doing the workshops over in the makeshop for a while there.

if you would like come along this saturday to TOG   tog.ie

i have setup a meetup called fabr-con for people who have 3d printer and laser cutter any type of fabrication can meetup and have a chat.

its on from 1300-1500 i will be there with my ultimaker and hoping a few other will bring there printer to.
