Hello

cross-posting

I got tired of having complicated .bashrc, .profile files to manage
different compile/build environments - remember to log out and log in to
make changes take effect.

I knew about the 'modules' and have now installed and done a preliminary
configuration - all with positive results.

In debian based systems the package is called environment-modules.
Redhat (and likely Fedora, CentOS ...) has of December 2012 decided to
use the same package for maintaing their suite of compilers, mpich,
openmpi, .... packages.
