Hello

Unless somebody participates from the FABM developers I guess FABM will hardly be mentioned. BSH, DMI, SMHI + .... are working on a joint physical model  where I don't see FABM fit in. Furthermore, Thomas was not very interested in the inclusion of ERGOM to FABM judging from Gennadi's comments.

Hi Karsten,

I find it essential that FABM developers are present at the ERGOM meeting.
On one hand, Thomas Neumann is the major scientist behind the ERGOM
biogeochemical model, and on the other hand, ERGOM is a major
biogeochemical component under FABM. We must thus ensure that an uptodate
FABM version of ERGOM is supported by the newly formed ERGOM developer and
user group. I talked to Frank Janssen today (Thomas is on vacation), and
he told me that decisions about how to provide generic model interfaces
have not yet been made and should be discussed during the meeting.

All the best,

Hans.

Without the meeting even have taken place I have the feelling it ill be
up-hill :-). And judging from the recipients list it seems that Jorn and
I are not relevant seen from the organisers point. Anyway Gennadi, Marie
and Richard has practical FABM experiences to share.

ERGOM is not anymore 'major' than the other models in FABM - and
furthermore the recent history shows that Thomas has no interest in the
FABM version of ERGOM as he was un-interested in the updates done by
Gennadi - leading to the strange situation that we have an improved
version of ERGOM not available in git as it could not be sorted out how
to do it. And in my opinion that is NOT the fault of Gennadi.
