hi list
i tried to print eht arial font that came with win2000 in 172pt from quark
xpress into a pdf file using adobe acrobat pdf writer -- but the fonts looks
very ugly. looking at the font list in quark, it shows me an "o" infront of
the arial, making me think of arial being an opentype, not a truetype font.
how is it possible to print arial smooth, or where can i get a real truetype
version of the font?

thanks a lot
matthias

Actually this sounds like you just need to turn on font smoothing in
Windows.
Right-click on the desktop, choose Properties, click the Effects tab, and
make sure the "Smooth edges of screen fonts" box is checked.
