Liberty Mutual Research Center for Safety and Health is seeking candidates
with the training in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or related areas
such as Organizational Behavior, Management, or Industrial Relations.
Individuals with research records or interests in occupational health, job
stress, shift work, machine-paced work, flexible time, performance
monitoring/feedback, training or intervention, and personnel selection are
especially encouraged to apply. Strong methodological, quantitative, or
psychometric skills are preferred. Job duties include (1) conducting
original, scholarly, business-relevant research, (2) publishing research
findings in peer-review journals, (3) collaborating with internal and
external researchers from different disciplines, and (4) publishing
technical memoranda. Approved research projects are internally funded.
Applicants must have completed the requirements for the Ph.D. or equivalent
degrees by December 31 of 2000. Benefit package includes an excellent health

expenses.
Recognized by scientific awards from around the world for contributions to
the improvement of workplace safety and health, the Research Center employs
a multidisciplinary, team-oriented staff of researchers representing fields
including: biomechanics, cognitive psychology, transportation psychology,
clinical psychology, medicine, epidemiology, tribology, physiology,
engineering, sociology, and biostatistics.
The Research Center is located on 86 acres of woodland 25 miles west of
Boston, MA. Significant collaborations exist with Harvard University, Texas
Tech University, Shanghai Medical University (PRC), the University of
Aberdeen (UK), and the Health and Safety Laboratories of the Health and
Safety Executive (UK).
