Hi

Can anyone tell me a reliable rating scale/questionnaire that can measure
confidence levels?

I appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks!

You may want to look at Bandura's work on measuring self-efficacy.
Self-efficacy scales can be modified slightly to be instructional content
specific without altering their other properties. There are several scales
that were developed for this purpose and at least one of them was included
in his publications.

You may also want to consider the use of observable behavioral indicators
(time taken to complete a test or time before the test that the subject
arrived at the testing site) and use of permanent products (e.g., GPA or
previous performance on tests) or other verbal reports (self-reported time
studied) in your design.

Hi,
don't forget to look at Buros, O.K. -The mental Measurments Yerabooks-
Highland Park N.J.Gryphon Press for instruments. There may be a subscale of a
instrument which you might find useful like the anxiety / tension items or (
if in a university setting) college maladjustment scale (mt scale ) on the
MMPI-2. It would be interesting to see if there was a convergence with more
direct measures related to actual performance / temporal measures suggest in
the earlier post. Your instructor should have access to the MMPI-2. Look at
MMPI-2 John Graham or any of Butchers Texts for more info. on MMPI-2 subscales
