4 doctoral scholarships starting October 1st 2008 (conditional upon
budget approval by the SNF).
The doctoral scholarships can be extended annually up to three
years.
The Pro*Doc Human Life is a graduate program offered by the Philosophy
Departments of the University Basel and the University Bern. Up to
fifteen doctoral candidates whose research falls in the area of the
Pro*Doc participate in the program. Each doctoral candidate will be
expected to complete a 3-year program. The program starts in the fall
term 2008. The scholarships are situated in the research modules
Nature and Morality and Autonomous Life. For more information see the

Prerequisite for application to the doctoral scholarship is a master
in philosophy, and to the post-doc a PhD in philosophy. All candidates
must be able to understand German.
Application papers must include credentials, CV, and a prospectus of a
research project (30,000 signs) that is related to the research
program of the Pro*Doc. In addition, applications to the post-doc must
include a summary of the dissertation (20,000 signs).
