The Philosophy department of the Faculty of Humanities, University of
Utrecht, hosts an independent chair of University Professor Herman
Philipse in the section Theoretical Philosophy (chaired by Professor
Albert Visser). The section and Prof. Philipse invite applicants for
the positions of postdoc researcher and/or PhD-researcher (both 1,0
fte) in one of the following domains: analytic philosophy,
epistemology, philosophy of science, or philosophy of religion. Both
positions are mainly intended for research and involve a little
teaching and some management tasks. Applicants for the postdoc position
should have an excellent PhD in philosophy prior to appointment and the
ambition to pursue a university career. Applicants for the PhD
studentship should have a master's degree in philosophy with excellent
marks. Salary postdoc researcher: 2,279 to 3,597 euro gross per month
on a fulltime basis. Salary PhD-researcher: 1,956 euro in the first
year to 2,502 euro in the fourth year gross per month on a full-time
basis. Deadline for applications is 18 December 2007.
