Here's my IBM Thinkpad 600 with newest BIOS version:
works great but the driver for the sound chip is poor and only
8bit sounds are possible. APM works without any problems.
So far 50d uptime :)
Running OpenBSD 3.5 on it and I use PCMCIA ethernet card
(SMC 10/100, dongless) to connect to my LAN.
It's SMC PCMCIA EZ TYPE II 10 / 100, 16BIT SMC8041TX V.2
to be precise..
USB also works without any problems. I tried GPRS with the sony-ericsson
dcu-11 cable, works too.
XF4 works great at 1024x768 resolution. Running fluxbox 0.1.14.
You might want to update the BIOS, the earlier version
have some trouble booting from various medias, the
patch available at ibm.com will fix the BIOS.
PS. I attached dmesg output from this box, it's GENERIC but
without some sound drivers I removed because I was testing
OSS sound driver. You might want to rip this section out
and not show it on the web. Also, you can edit my message
as you best see fit. Cheers!
