I thought maybe the people on this list might be able to help with an
important project, either directly or by sharing this message with other
people who might have views on the subject.
For the past thirteen years, my colleagues and I have been engaged in a
study of the practices and thinking of the best medical school
educators, those people who seem to have exceptional success in helping
and encouraging their students to achieve remarkable learning results.
This is an ongoing study and we are currently trying to identify
additional subjects for the study. Do you know of colleagues or others
whom we should possibly consider? Our standards are high. In thirteen
years, we have studied intensely about three dozen professors and
another fifty to sixty less extensively.
Each summer since 1996 we have shared our tentative conclusions in a
three-day interactive international institute in Chicago that has
featured some of the people we have studied, and we will do the same
again this year. Eventually, we will publish our findings.
Please think about the best medical educators you know and send us their
names and contact information (including e-mail addresses if possible)
off list at te...@nwu.edu
Thank you in advance for your assistance
