I may need to connect to a mysql database.

I know there is an Ingres product that allows one to connect to other
databases can anyone point me in the right direction here so that I can
read up on this.

I envisage doing this from a Linux box probably using ESQLF , this will be
to keep tables in sync between a mysql database and an Ingres database.

thanks
Allan

Hi Alan,

I have been supporting this combo until the Mysql server was retired
recently:

Ingres <-> OpenROAD <-> EA/MSSQL <-> MSSQL 2008 <-> Mysql

I love Enterprise Access. Simple quick lazy coding.

SELECT, UPDATE, Views, Procedures, DIRECT EXECUTE IMMEDIATE.

The MSSQL Linked Server facility is very useful.

Peercore supports cross database transactions and synchronisation at several
client sites,

example:

Ingres <-> DAS <-> .Net C# <-> MSSQL (but can be any DB).

Also, I recall Myworkplace had built their own ODBC driver

Ingres <-> OpenROAD <-> ODBC <-> MS Access

Should be a fun project.

Paul
