Could the subject of contributions be automatically prepended with
[info-cvs]. Most mailing lists seem to have a prefix, and it is pretty
necessary to distinguish one's ordinary emails.

Please don't do this! There are headers in every message which allow
filtering of CVS mailing list messages into other folders.
I recommend you investigate the filtering and folder tools in you mail
client.

Also the header "X-BeenThere: info...@gnu.org" is a header which will
always be present in all messages recieved from the mailing list.
