I have three modems attached to my Hylafax+ server, where ttyUSB0 and ttyUSB1 for receiving only. Due to some unknown problem this morning, my US Robotics 14.4 modem on ttyUSB0 cannot receive fax anymore, always showing "Waiting for modem to come ready". The modem is on, but no luck to work even though I use "/etc/initid/hylafax restart" or power off and on the modem. The modem cannot be initilized. It happened since I tried to fax a test from my analog fax machine, it generate errors then problem comes out.
1. How can I reset this particular modem on ttyUSB0, I tried to use "faxaddmodem ttyUSB0" but it said; this device has been in use. I want to use "faxsetup" but I do not know would it overwrite all configure files for other two modems.
2. If I want to change to another modem for ttyUSB0, what can I do either?
Modem ttyS0 (+1.714.567.xxx9): Running and idle
Modem ttyUSB0 (+1.714.576.8xxx): Waiting for modem to come ready <==== problem
Modem ttyUSB1 (+1.71.576.9xxx): Running and idle (exempt)
thanks!

Is faxgetty running on that modem?

What other program is using it? (lsof | grep /dev/ttyUSB0)

You stop running faxgetty on the modem and re-run faxaddmodem for it
after connecting the new modem.
Thanks,
Lee.
