Hi,
we are running Hylafax 6.X with Iaxmodem. Is there any way to specify the outgoing callerid/cidnumber on the fax for each user?
Thanks
Bastian
Hi Lee,
thanks again ! I just updated - I noticed that hylafax+ supports ldap without pam. I used to connect hfax with PAM Support to our Active Directory Server. After the update - it doesnt seem to work anymore. What do I need to setup, to connect it again ?
Thanks
Bastian

HylaFAX+ 5.5.0 will in reality be an upgrade to any hylafax.org release
you're using.

In the modem config files.

No. Just add it to the modem config file. But I recommend that you
re-run faxaddmodem and then review the config file afterwards... then
making sure that ModemSetOriginCmd is as you wish.
Thanks,
Lee.
I believe that the PAM functions between HylaFAX+ and hylafax.org
releases are identical (or at least close-enough to consider them
identical). The extra LDAP functionality in HylaFAX+ shouldn't be
interfering. So just retrace your previous PAM configuration as your
upgrade approach may have undone your previous PAM configuration work.
Thanks,
Lee.

Hi,
okay - the hylafax 5.5.0 was compiled without PAM support. I Just fixed that out - it works fine now.
Is it possible to set the " ModemSetOriginCmd " by user ? Means User X is having CallerID: "12345" ? I mean, how does it work to set the " ModemSetOriginCmd " anyway ? Do I need to have a client that supports that attribut ? WHFC as client wouldnt work, would it ?
Thanks again,
Bastian

You can do this with JobControl.

The client submits the data in the job and then the server passes the
data to the modem.

Not if you use JobControl. But it sure would be a lot easier if the
client could.

I don't think WHFC supports these features. So if you're using WHFC
you'll need to use JobControl or something.
