Password:faxmail: unable to process message: Login failed: 500 'PASS ':
Syntax error, expecting password.. )
I try to send fax using the following address in the mail:
First of all I can send fax using command line with the following command:
sendfax -n -D -d /PHONENUMBER/ /PDF_FILE/
Password: xxxxxx
request id is 120 (group id 120) for host localhost (1 file)
It seams that the system is looking for the password that it doesn't
receive.
The whole information in the log file of the mail is the following:

Can anyone help me?

You conf files permissions look good.
The uucp user is the one that has access to the tty's and thus modems.
Thank you.

Thank's 4 your help
Gian Carlo
What script are you using to submit the e-mails as faxes to the server?
The server is requiring a password from the client. So you can either
supply the password on the command-line from the script or you can
configure the server to accept fax jobs from the client without a password.
Thanks,
Lee.
was not the same in the following line:
/etc/hosts:
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
hylafax/hosts
127.0.0.1 localhost
I changed the definition in /etc/hosts as follow and now it works:
127.0.0.1 localhost
Hope that this will help others
Best regards
