Cutting Edge Technologies?

Greetings all.

If you had the option of visiting a few North American centres with a view
to learning more about net based distance education, (who are some of the
leaders?) where would you go?

I am thinking about a possible study tour of North America to explore the
theory and practice of Distance Education, or as the required application
brief states, "the cutting edge of the new learning technologies."

And does anyone know of any conferences/workshops/seminars on net based
Distance Ed or related topics in the month of April in North America?
