ClickTrade and LinkShare Network both have programs where you select the companies to partner with that you feel represent the type of audience you seek to attract. They both have companies in their programs that would suit an educational nonprofit, and so it wouldn't be an ad for "brand x" but for a related type of product or service. You can also often choose a small banner instead of a big one, and many will allow you to post a text link instead of a banner. You can also put different programs/companies on different pages.

This isn't the same as a sponsorship, but it's a way to start easily. But a corporate sponsors would require you to post their ads, too!

If you want to see what is available out there, for Click Trade and LinkShare and some samples of the kinds of products available through them and through the Link Exhange/MSN Revenue Avenue programs, you can look at mindymac mini-mall's  "banner farm" for selected products, which is supporting my own content development (I hope). If you click on any of the ClickTrade of LinkShareNetwork buttons, it will take you to the programs and explain how they work and the available "sponsors". The content site is http://www.mindymac.com, and the mini-mall area is http://www.mindymac.com/minimall.html.

>Dear Colleagues:
>My request for you involves the issue of web site sponsorship, e.g., how to
