I just wanted to give a big shout out THANK YOU to all you kind folks!  A big hug and kiss to 'bcosca' for developing and shepherding F3!

I had a need for a framework to develop a very simple web app to allow novices to create content for a Wordpress site.  I had the Wordpress XML-RPC interface (that I was fairly familiar with) was considering going back to my ol' standby CodeIgniter or trying something new because CodeIgniter's future has been uncertain for a couple of years.  I was all ready to drink the Laravel kool-aid.  I kept thinking 216Mb and a months-long learning curve were a pretty heavy price to pay.

I discovered F3...

I completed my project from start to finish in just under 3 weeks.  I'm still fixing the odd bug here and there but I'm amazed at how rock solid it is.  All of F3 and my app is just under 7Mb!

F3 saved me months of learning curve and a large expense in reference books before I could even get started.

Thank you all for all your help and thank you all for a great project and an enjoyable development experience...I've made my contribution!

I'm going to take some time off to train the ultimate users and to do some other stuff (which will involve re-use of what I've done with F3).  I'll probably be replacing the image browser in my client with some F3 code...

Thanks again one and all!

Just wanted to throw my two-bits in as well. I have not been a fan of many frameworks, and actually didn't care to use them and just build something of my own. Not the best practice for 'cost', and 'time'.
Before every project I would do some new-research and check things out to see if there was anything 'new', and TA-DA, finally found F3... thought I found gold when I spun up my first project.

I started to share in my local Development community here where I live, no-one had ever heard of it... But I continue to whisper in their ears, "F3 F3 F3" (fist-pumps and chanting).

None the less, I got my first project (large scale project across Canada) up and running in less than a month! Very minor learning curve to get you started. As I continue to grow using the product I find small nuggets of gold (which is big for me as I love "Gold Rush" the tv series).

In any case, I appreciate the 'crew' for putting this all together. And hope that I can contribute in helping to mold the product in the future!
Cheers!

Agree, I'm really new to frameworks, and php, and programming, etc, etc... but F3 was the perfect solution to my needs, acttualy I have 2 sites right now in less than 3 weeks, one of them with admin section completly functional... it's kind of simply sites but the user was so happy with it...

Big thanks to the team!

Same here: I joined this group for this purpose: a huge thank you, i gave a shot at Laravel and Phalcon and felt burdened by the amount of concepts to master before being able to write code that i fully understand.
The library is rock solid, lean and fit for exactly the concerns of web development, really like the DB mapping into dehydrated objects. I've not yet finished this personal project so I have probably other jewels to discover (I'm looking at you, caching!) .

Big up also for the documentation is really helpful, concise but exhaustive and well organized.

I'm now looking forward to being more active in this group or on StackOverflow and contribute what I can to newcomers.

Thank you!!

Alexandre.

Take F3 from 'bcosca', pick a few plugins from 'ikkez' and you have awesome routing, pagination, db creation, form helpers and in two days you achieve what you would have achieved in a week with CI or Laravel.
Thanks guys, this is the greatest thing that has ever happened to my PHP programming

Agreed, its certainly my go to solution for anything that does not require collaborating with other developers, and is a pleasure to work with.

Also, thanks for reminding me that a donation was long overdue. I have remedied that now.

Steve - If you are collaborating ... what would be your goto solution ? Nette ?

I'm in agreement as well. I starting working with F3 in February to rewrite a dated ColdFusion application and I was impressed with how quick was able to get up an running. Also, how the community on this Google group is willing to help each other. Especially, a newb such as myself. Thank you everyone!

Let me add my thanks to bcosca for F3. I have been using the framework for more than 3 years, mostly for personal projects but also for a few widely used websites that I manage for local community groups. The most used application is for a local museum (mvtm.ca), a public site that gets about 10,000 visits (150,000 hits) per month. The specific application provides online access and keyword searching to a community newspaper archive going back to 1861; 50 GiB of online content.

The application uses the router, the SQL ORM and the template engine, combined with a front-end js/jquery program. F3 provides both the main pages and an API to support AJAX calls. It can be accessed directly at https://mvtm.ca/gazette2017
