Hi all,

I'm cutting my teeth on F3 by designing 2 different sites. One of them will require the person to login before they can do anything else.

Is there an easy way to do that? I've seen a few plugins from a few years ago but all of them say "I've switched to something else, this code doesn't work any more"

Also is it possible in the config.ini file to store the information needed to log into a database? (user name, password, etc)?

Thanks!

Chris

Hi all,

Hi there, welcome.

I've personally had good success with xfra35's f3-access plugin.

Of course, just set regular variables as instructed on the configuration files docs. You can optionally define then under a custom section.

Thanks!

No problem, good luck.

Sounds like you could do with a good starter course that includes basic authentication (login, etc). There's a great video course exactly for that:

Part 5 contains the authentication section but I suggest you follow along from the beginning.

Even if you use the f3-access plugin (which looks very good) you'll still need to provide login, registration, password recovery, etc.
