Hello fabulous folks!

Fresh Roots has had a couple last minute changes to our staff team and are now urgently hiring summer positions that start in less than 2 weeks. Review of applications immediately:

🌱 Full-Time Farm Day Camp Facilitator in South Vancouver, BC
🌱 Part-Time Community Eats Chef Educator in Coquitlam, BC (with possibility for extension into fall and winter with LunchLAB Vancouver)

See website hiring page for details: https://freshroots.ca/about/job-opportunities/

If you know of any folks looking for summer work please send them our way! The Day Camp position is funded through Canada Summer Jobs, so candidates must meet eligibility requirements. The Chef Educator position is open to anyone.

Thanks,

Kat

We have the privilege and honour to work on this land that is not ours. This is the ancestral and unceded homelands of the sc̓əwaθən məsteyəxʷ (Tsawwassen), kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem), q̓íc̓əy̓ (Katzie), stó:lō (Sto:lo), xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh), qiqéyt (Qayqayt), and sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) Coast Salish peoples. As settlers, as farmers, and as educators, we acknowledge the harm that farming and schooling have done to Indigenous Peoples and the land across this region. We work towards ongoing reconciliation as listeners, food sharers, and land stewards.

If we want children to flourish, to become truly empowered, then let us allow them to love the Earth before we ask them to save it. - David Sobel
