Have you ever wondered about the environmental impact of your local food to school or farm to school program? Here’s your chance to find out!
We are a group of SFU-UBC researchers looking for data on the sources, types, and amounts of food purchased by farm to school or local food to school programs such as records, tracking sheets, invoices, or receipts. We will use the data to calculate the total amount of foods purchased, the types, and transport distances to determine potential greenhouse gas emissions, water impacts, and other indicators. In return, we will provide a confidential report of your school or program’s results. *If you need assistance with compiling the data, we can provide administrative support!

Hey Claudia,
Any chance you can provide an introductory paragraph to go along with the poster - for communications?
Thanks!

Subject: Recruiting schools for a study on the environmental impact of school meal programs
Hello F2SBC team and BCSchoolFood team,
I hope each of you had a nice long weekend. I'd like to ask you please share the attached poster through your listservs and networks. Last year I also requested to you announce this study, but since we need to recruit more schools I ask you this again, but this time we created a poster :-) -attached.
FYI, the research team doesn't need to get SDs' ethics approval to conduct this case study because we are collecting only quantitative data. Any school with a meal program can participate in the study.
Thank you so much!
Clau
