Grants
Kids who grow veggies, eat veggies, so school gardens can make a big difference. Through our Garden Grant program, schools and non-profit organizations turn outdoor spaces into powerful hands-on learning gardens that connect kids with food, spark their curiosity and support classroom curriculum. Our Garden Grant program provides a $3,000 monetary grant to support a new or existing edible educational garden located at either a: K–12 School or Registered Charity in Canada that serves children in the K-12 grade range.

The Gardens for Good grant program supports community gardens across North America that are growing organic food and doing good in their communities. To spread the love a little further in 2022, we will award 22 garden projects with $5,000 each this year!

Research Participation Opportunity:
Have you ever wondered about the environmental impact of your local food to school or farm-to-school program? Here’s your chance to find out!
We are a group of SFU-UBC researchers looking for data on the sources, types, and amounts of food purchased by farm to school or local food to school programs such as records, tracking sheets, invoices, or receipts. We will use the data to calculate the total amount of foods purchased, the types, and transport distances to determine potential greenhouse gas emissions, water impacts, and other indicators. In return, we will provide a confidential report of your school or program’s results. *If you need assistance with compiling the data, we can provide administrative support!
