Hi team,

Please reply to Ashok, Jason, and I if you want to go to the F2F appreciation event on 25 Feb 2014 at 6:30pm (that's a Tuesday night).

The gift basket is due asap. So far we have the following in the basket:
   Chevron Gas Card ($25 thanks Ed)
   Facial cert ($50 thanks Carolyn)
   Trouffles (worth at least $25 thanks Eve)
   Chinese Liquor (worth about $25 provided by James)

We need a couple restaurant certificates. Hence, please print out the attached F2F form (you really must have the form with you when you do this) and pound the pavement near your house/apartment this weekend. Go to restaurants near where you live this weekend and ask them to donate a gift certificate.

Please email Ashok, Jason, and I this Sunday evening at around 9pm. Let us know which restaurants were willing and which restaurants were not willing to give F2F a gift certificate.

Hey gift basket leaders,

Did you get everything you needed for the gift basket?  I'm in bed sick today, but I can ask around the Alameda restaurants for gift certificates this Saturday.

 

Call it pride or whatever, but I'm really proud of our gifts so far and hope we can round it off with a restaurant gift certificate, so Carolyne K/Ella don't end up splitting up our gifts.  For those of you who didn't make it to the F2F meeting --Carolyne K said that if a gift basket seemed "incomplete," they might use parts of our gifts and mix them up with other teams' gift baskets.  They especially wanted to move our facial gift cert to another team's basket.  I say, NO way! Let's not let them.  I got that facial for our basket, not for some other team to use for theirs, haha. :P

I went to 20 businesses on Solano this past Saturday. I had thought it was a smart move because it was raining hard, which meant fewer customers, which meant more face time with the managers/owners. However, that was not the case; fewer customers meant the managers/owners were not there. Instead I was told no thank u by just about everyone. A few businesses told me to come back on Tuesday when the owners are there, and I will do that.

For the basket I will contribute I bottle of Chinese hard liquor which I already picked up on Sunday from 99 Ranch.

Yes, to Carolyn's suggestion. The facial certificate stays in our basket. By the way Carolyn, I received that certificate in the mail on Sat.

Thanks, James, and good luck tomorrow. 

By the way, I got word from one of our team members who offered a Chez Panisse gift cert that was given to them, if nothing comes up. Let's hope we can find another restaurant certificate so our member doesn't have to sacrifice their own gift certificate. :)
