New Beta 1 release 1.930.6373 with Compact Framework Support

HI All,

I've just packaged a new release with compact framework versions of
the assemblies. They're just compilation fixes and a few tweaks, hence
the reason it's still technically Beta 1 (no new functionality).

Which data are you trying it with?

It could be that you don't have the key for that session, I haven't
downloaded them all.

Also I know in the last race there was some pit data not normally
expected being delivered in the 2nd sector message. Even the official
live timing displayed it wrong. I think this will go away in future
races. But if not I'll have to account for it with a fix.

From the log file it looks like none of the packets have been
decrypted. Getting the decryption key is a manual process, for which I
usually use a unit test for (Melbourne was session 6708).

Which IAuthKey implementation are you using? If it's the simulator,
you'll need to make sure that session 6708 has a key in the
dictionary. This can either be added to the Session Keys.txt file.

Or you can create a Protocol.AuthorisationKey(user, pass) which
implements IAuthKey. It will log you on to the live timing auth server
to get the key so you'll need a formula1.com user/pass. Once you have
the key, update the txt file so you don't have to keep logging in.

Hello, 

I developed something last year with this library, it was no way finished but it did work and displayed all the timings, i also want to use something like this on my site http://www.ultimatef1.co.uk/ but as i was saying to Liam, im not sure if we can use it publicly because the FIA (formula1.com) state that the timing data is also copyrighted. Does anyone else have an opinion on this? 

It would be good if we could all collaborate on this and design a control that we can drop on a web page.

I suppose that would be ok, I think for my own site I would want to clarify that with FOM but i may end up just doing it anyway. They say you cant use the word F1 on F1 websites for gods sake but there are loads of sites that do.

I'm no expert, but I think essentially it's about redistributing
copyright data. There's no mandate for decoding and privately viewing
data (as long as you don't disrupt their service). However
redistributing it might be a problem. There was a website (maybe
f1zone) which used to have a flash control I believe, but they don't
now. Perhaps it was legal?

I can help you with the library and decoding, but the website I'm
afraid I'm not able to. Be interested to hear how you get on though.

All car messages inherit from ICarMessage. So you could up-cast and
retrieve the property CarType ICarMessage.CarType which you can then
do a switch case against. CarBaseMessage is just common code for all
of the implementations so it's of little use on it's own.

If you get the latest source code, I've added some better handling. It
should now skip over message errors. I don't know what a track status:
3 would be, so need to investigate that further.

Also I can't see why this would only be for the compact framework,
unless there's something more wrong happening. Let me know how you get
on with that now. Perhaps try a variety of sim data.

BTW I completely removed log4net from the compact framework (stubbed
it out) to get it working. We may need to put that back in if there
are still problems.
