Hello - I am an active member on grandprix2.de.  I am not sure if it is OK to ask about GP2 here as I think this group is dedicated to GP1.

I was wondering if anyone on here edits GP2 tracks.  I am currently making a GP2 version of Long Beach 1983.

I am looking for a more active group than grandprix2.de is.  It seems the site is slowly dying now that no one can register as the admin is MIA.

Anyways - I am curious if anyone can help me with drawing orders of objects in GP2.  I am adding a modified bridge from Monza to my Long Beach track and when I put a building next to it- it has a drawing order issue where the building bleeds through the bridge.  I have tried modifying the offset positions of this in the track sector but it isn't helping.

Hello and welcome to the community.

I'm not sure there are too many people involved with GP2 track editing here, but I hope you'll find the information you need.
There are still some track authors active on the GP2 forum, and I guess you could try contacting the authors directly if everything else fails.

I wish you luck.

Best regards,
Hrvoje

Ah- Hrvoje!  Thank you for your reply.  I am now re-watching Ted Meat's GP1 season on youtube and I hear of him mention you on the videos!  I have been discussing with Michael R on the gp2 forum, but the site is slow and unfortunately there aren't many active authors now.  I did reach out to Antonio and Addie (from the late 90's).  I really regret not learning track editing 25 years ago because there were more people doing it back then.

I originally come from the ICR2 (indycar racing 2) modding scene and I learned to make tracks for ICR2 back in 2020 and now I have been doing it for 5 years.  In ICR2 we have the ability to make objects from polygons from scratch by writing the BSP source code- and I was disappointed that GP2 does not have this ability (yet) because it hasn't been reverse-engineered to that level so far. Maybe some day.  For now I am modifying existing objects.  Hopefully with the use of AI we can get there.

Would Pavel, who's made ICR2 tracks and updates, be able to help you. Just an idea?

I've know Pavel for a long time! He's my original inspiration to learn icr2 track editing.

The problem is that gp2 objects have not been completely reverse engineered.  With icr2 we have original papyrus tools that were designed for them to make tracks.  We can write the source code for an object, and then compile it and make anything we want.

With gp2, I don't think it has been done to this level.  I don't think Pavel makes gp2 tracks either.

Thank you for your reply though!
