Hi Everyone,

I completed a new car build recently using most of the parts as listed in the build section of f1tenth website.

Upon running the car everything looked fine except that after running for a bit with the joystick and or passing commands from MATLAB ROS, the vesc gives a serial exception error.

The msg in terminal is as shown below:

terminate called after throwing an instance of 'serial::SerialException'
what():  SerialException device reports readiness to write but returned no data (device disconnected?) failed.

And the following information on what process has died, it seems as the vesc driver terminates and hence I cant communicate with motor/servo.

[vesc/vesc_driver-14] process has died [pid 4565, exit code -6, cmd /home/nvidia/TX2_car/f1tenth_ws/devel/lib/vesc_driver/vesc_driver_node __name:=vesc_driver __log:=/home/nvidia/.ros/log/dc89c59a-64f1-11eb-9068-00044bc537dd/vesc-vesc_driver-14.log].
log file: /home/nvidia/.ros/log/dc89c59a-64f1-11eb-9068-00044bc537dd/vesc-vesc_driver-14*.log

I am wondering if this is a common issue with the vesc or is my cable faulty ? ANy help is appreciated.

Thanks.
