What a surprise that GP turned out to be! Expecting a boring
processional race with Seb streaking off into the distance
unchallenged, it all changed with the safety car being deployed after
that idiot Verne tried a stupid move on Heikki and then scattered his
disintegrating rubber all over the circuit by driving too fast back to
the pits. Stupid boy! Alonso was supreme - to my mind he's now on the
same exalted pedestal with the true greats, Senna, Clark et al
Then when Sebs car came to a grinding halt, the race exploded into
life.
But yet again, McLaren screw up Hamiltons pit stop. The front jack was
a new design which had failed during practice yet Sam Michaels still
put it into service. Does anyone else hold the view that he is
ultimately responsible for all the recent pitlane foul-ups?
Once more that thug Maldonado uses his car as a battering ram. Albeit
rather cynically, I'm of the opinion he knew exactly what he was doing
by T-boning Lewis. He was being pushed off the track, quite
legitimately by Lewis and had bags of tarmac to play with to his left.
He could have stayed left, tucked in behind Lewis and nailed him at
the next opportunity, Let's face it, he'd followed Lewis long enough
to know his tyres were shot. But the guy borders on psychopathic when
he feels hard done by. I fear he will, one day, cause a massive,
perhaps fatal accident if he's not severely dealt with and by simply
giving him a meagre 20 second penalty yesterday is nothing more than a
wet fish slap on the wrist. He's a dangerous b*****d
Did anyone watch the forum on BBC after the race? There was an item
referring to Schumachers use of DRS whilst under yellows, which the
following Webber had radio'd to his pits. According to Ross Brawn, MS
had shut it down 30 metres before the yellows, but on-track footage
clearly showed that wasn't the case. Apparently the stewards were
debating whether Schumacher had slowed down but surely the point was
that, since he was not within a second of the car in front ( there
were no cars anywhere near him) he shouldn't have been using DRS
anyway and was clearly doing so to try to shake off Webber which is
why Mark flagged it up in the first place. Anyone got a view?
Finally, surely it can't be long before a Lotus (probably Grosjean)
bags a win and hats off to Di Resta for another great drive.

An astonishingly good race, for Valencia!

Two alternators died? On 2 different cars, but who was the supplier? Odd, that one.

First off, a cracking performance from Fred, without a doubt the drive (so far) of the season. watchin his start from on-board was a lesson in how to make up places fast. Wonderfully on form driving.

Grosjean has to be odds on to take a top spot sooner rather than later. Gutted he had his problem.

Why did Senna get a penalty from being hit from behind? Did I miss something? Vergen's was fully deserved for a wild swing to the right when none was needed. Koby? Well, a bit wild really.

Mal donado is fast becoming my all time hated driver. His name, from ancestry.com, nickname for an ugly or stupid person, from Spanish mal donado ‘ill-favored’. The phrase is a compound of mal ‘badly’ + donado ‘given’, ‘endowed’. Seems to fit well. 20 seconds gives Senna the points and demotes the Git to 12th, but it will never give Lewis back his points.
