At least McLaren didn't screw up a dominant race meeting Lewis Hamilton this time. What might have been comes to mind when recalling the earlier races this year. Although I'm backing Alonso for the title, if Lewis and the team put in the sort of performance just witnessed it could be a close run thing. But what is it with Mclaren? They totally screwed Jenson's potential podium place by switching a 2 stop to a 3 stop race when Jenson himself questioned why he had to pit both times earlier than he thought given that his tyres were still giving plenty of grip? His season will now, no doubt, be relegated to being Lewis's wingman - I'll bet he's really pleased about that! NOT!
Great drives by Kimi and Grosjean, surely a win will come this year for one of them.
Can't quite understand why Paul Di Resta has struggled so much in the last few races - could it have something to do with Anthony Hamilton no longer in his corner or just coincidence? Didn't the same thing happen to Lewis when he dumped his dad?
Alonso drove a canny race, didn't push it and settled for points, but Massa must now be on his way out. He's lying 14th in the standings with just 25 points to his name. Anyone care to speculate on his likely replacement
Not a bad race overall given that it is a difficult circuit to overtake on unless the heavens open. Mixed weather was forecasted but the wet stuff stayed away. At least Spa, notorious for "anything can happen weather" is next on the list.
