What a bloody joke! The introduction of KERS and DRS and a new remit to the tyre supplier i.e Pirelli to produce tyres with limited use was designed to encourage more overtaking and consequently a more exciting spectacle. In the main it's achieved that only to be made a mockery of by the re-introduction of team orders, which, if my memory serves me correctly, were banned during Schumachers reign.
Yesterdays race was laughable. Mercedes blatantly denied the one driver who has won their only race in 3 years, who outpaced the "legendary" Schumacher and is already proving to be no push-over for wonder boy Hamilton, a podium finish. Nico had obviously worked his tyres less hard than a typically charging Lewis, the latter paying for it by being told to conserve things, whereas Rosberg was in a position to maximise his advantage only to be told to hold station. Ridiculous.
As for Sebastien Vettel - who's he trying to kid with his hollow apologies! He knew EXACTLY what he was doing and I wouldn't blame Mark Webber if, assuming he doesn't throw in the towel, to be uber ruthless from here on in.
McLaren once again cocked up a possible podium for Jenson with a fundamental pit stop error. Just when will they learn!!! I seriously hope JB went ballistic in private with the team - he had every right.
Alonso got caught out with schoolboy error it seemed, but do we know if the team radio'd him to pit immediately and he ignored it?
Perez was ordinary but Jules Bianchi is certainly punching above his weight in the Marrussia. I know his cousins reasonably well and they recently told me he was utterly gutted not to have been given the Force India seat. If Paul Di Resta doesn't start showing his true worth against a resurgent Sutil, he could lose his seat to Jules next year. Whatever happens, if Bianchi continues to shine he'll be in a competitive team soon and able to go up against some real competition not to mention his old teammate Hulkenberg.
