I just started to play around with F-Script. I added the
FScriptMenuItem to one of my applications.
When I try to enter any of the examples for the "Creating Cocoa
Classes with F-Script" tutorial I receive errors in response.
For instance, when I enter:
>Buddy : NSObject {}
I get:
end of command expected , character 17
The same line of code is accepted without problems in the console
window of FScript.app. The same holds true for all the other code
examples from the "Creating Cocoa Classes with F-Script" tutorial.
I'm I missing something here?
Thanks,
Ilja
This problem can be caused by your application loading an old version of the F-Script framework sitting somewhere on your system, instead of the latest version with support for classes. In particular, you should double check that there isn't an old version of the framework (which is named "FScript.framework") in standard places such as ~/Library/Frameworks (where ~ stands for your home directory) or /Library/Frameworks.
To know for sure where the F-Script framework used by your application is actually sitting on your system, you can evaluate the following expression in F-Script:
NSBundle bundleForClass:FSSystem

Thanks for the help. You were right. I found an FScript.framework from 2007 nicely rotting away in ~Library/Frameworks I had entirely forgotten about.
