I like this a lot Leo! Keeping it simple helps it rather than hurts it in this case, I dare say. Really like your voice on this. Catchy stuff man! Keep writing and singing! I'm diggin' it!

I am quite sure I will do something on this to submit soon.

You ROCK leo!

Leo-

I checked your tempo on this with winBPM, and it showed about 84 BPM too so that's the tempo I'll set my software at.

How did you find a BPM for this? Seems pretty accurate, whatever you used to find it. I'm going to work on this now.

Any idea what chords you used? I can no doubt fin accompanyment by ear, but it'll help me to know.

It has a good hook to it. I find myself hearing it in my head between listens. Goodstuff.

:-)

I don't believe hahaha... what a shot!! I mark it with my analog clock, count the beats with my foot, and found 42 ticks in 30 seconds approximately. x2 = 84 :-) lucky.
I dont know the chords exactly... I'll draw it at home and send to you cause I dont know the names, I palyed it creating the chords based in what I hear.
I just come back from S. Carlos, 2hours ago.. I have to finish my job..I'm late...hehe, but soon I come back home I'll see these things... another hard day.

But, dont worry.. ill find some time :-)

Here's the little app I mentioned (WINBPM). It's small and effective. You tap the spacebar along with the song and when you let off it tells you roughly the tempo of a track. If you think about it it's doing the same thing you did Leo. It just makes it easier.

You are now right with the 84 BPM metronome in this mix. I'm gonna take a break and then begin working on some accompanyment.

You have good timing instincts Leo.

Do you think maybe the verb is a bit much? I like the verb, but may be a little strong. Is that a plugin? If so, maybe it's a good idea to post a dry vocal track so we can back it down just a bit?

Hi, sorry, I´m very busy this week, but there is the sequence:

Verse: 1...2

Ref: 3..4....end 5

1 2 3 4 5

0-0-0-0-0
3-2-1-1-0
2-0-2-0-2
2-2-3-2-2
0-0-0-3-0
0-0-0-0-0

I dont know the names, basicaly is 2 A(something) F(something) C and another A(something) hehehe

Easy...

If you want, I can record the vocal line again...we already have defined the timeline, it´s easy to record again. I used the gearbox to record both vocal and guitar, using a real-time FX, I dont have the dry rec.

And if someone want to try another base guitar, we can change the actual base... I just come with the voice ;-)

Another session on the vox for fry would be good. Like to have control over the verb. Once things start getting layered the verb can add noise if it's overdone. I am a fan of verb, but we gotta have control and easy does it... To have dry vox is called for and add the FX after the fact... with plugins...

Cool...

Same with the percussion. I am thinking to add some more but I gotta be careful not to overdo it. I think this sort of "Latin" feel needs percussion and to me it helps, but we'll keep it subtle and in the backing....

I am already having big ideas for the productions.... Guitar leads in my head etc.

Very cool this beat! ... and the latin touch gives a new feeling, sound very good. I think the same, now with this percursion idea, we can´t use this verb on the vox and even in the base guitar, it feels better more acoustic...simple verb on guitar and on vox a little, almost nothing, just to integrate it to the ambience... is my feeling hehe
Another thing... I would like to record the final vocal when the instr. be totally finished, cause I can model my voice according to the emotion of the song...the final touch! :-)
Is very cool Fred, really!
Let´s do some tries.

Ummm you should see that you now have access to the wiki Leo. That's the Status Window on this project page.

You'll notice in the very middle of the page just above the files is a HELP link which has a tutorial movie which explains how to edit the status of your projects to up them. I'll update it this time. Just wanted you to know how to do this on your own projects..

Cool!

I've been a little preoccupied with other things. Check out the additions I've added to the QUICKSTART page. This should make it easier for people to check projects to see the lasts posted right from the QUICKSTART.

Plus I like to give a little time in between my auditions in case others want to post something. I do have ideas to help the song tna dI do believe it will change the feel with each new addition. I like it...

You mean the the scroller div under the all projects? It´s a good idea, but one suggestion is to put it on top of the projects (more visible) and reduce the height, can be more effective, don´t?
It´s really cool to see where we can go when another musician put his feelling and give wings to more possibilities inside of what we build...maintaining the essence of the base...and sometimes, turn it into another song completely different, but it is not needed in this case.
For me its beeing a tremendous experience and a school work here in this projects, first because I´m not professional but music is my passion, and each time I record, sing and complain certain things become more easy, and second, the quality and the level of the musicians are high!! Lot of potential... seems like a music factory...or can be!
I never had the objective to make music professionaly, but what I see here is changing my concepts ;-)
Let´s Rock!

No I meant the blue buttons to the right of each title on the QUICKSTART. It's only half done.

I have the scroller down below purposely, because it's more important for people to see the titles and click into them than to see the actual comments. The scroller is secondary. The blue buttons let you see the comments for each project directly with no scrolling. And the top blue button lets you see the latest posts for ALL projects...

I've been doing the code for that a little at a time. That's why it's only a little more than half done.

Been thinking about what you said about the scroller Leo. If I reduced the height like you suggest, it might work better on top. I just don't want it to keep people from using the titles list to click into projects. That's actually more important than the scroller. But with reduced height it might indeed be better. Thanks...

Ok Leo I uploaded some bass ideas I worked on today. Just an excerpt (part of the song). Ignore the part under the word "Life" in the phrase "For all your l---i---f---e---). Those are just place holder notes. I will have the drums and bass doing a build up (crescendo) there for effect. I stopped before I could get to work on the buildups. The bass has it feeling even more LATIN now I dare say. I am thinking to put more percussion under the chorus, but different and I want to listen and let my ears guide me on what to put under there.

I might want to make the bass a little less staccatto on the chorus but it has the feel. That is if YOU like the bass direction.

Ok, now I saw the blue button! I dont understand it initially..hehe.. can I suggest another thing? ... put one small icon, something like a note, ou a glass, makes it more visible. hehe
The bass...is very good, really, in my opinion we can follow that line!
AC...you always suprise me hahaha... good idea this flute! But we have to take care with the bass line... the both bass and flute must talk to each other.
I´ll have to record the vocal again because the feeling is changing...the guitar maybe have to be remade to. Let´s follow this line...the bass is ok needs to be finished, I suggest to make the flute over the bass mix..
To remake the vocal I´ll need the instrumental mix... but no rush it´s getting very cool! It´s changing :-)

It's funny how our ears become fatigued after long sessions at the console. Listened to my bass on this today and things that bothered me yesterday didn't seem to today. I think all I need to do is work on those buildups I mentioned and this will be in good shape.

BTW: I put a prompt in the QUICKSTART page about the new message buttons. It's in the upper right corner (at the top of that column). Those buttons are now finished coding....

I left the scroller at the bottom. I tried moving it to the top and the project list moved off the screen. People would have to scroll down to see it, and i fear a lot would miss it and just dismiss the scroller. The title list is what the whole page is about so I left the scroller at the bottom. The scroller is just to show browsing people that there is life in these pages. They can use the buttons I just put on to do serious reading or go to the project pages and read.

I'll try to finish this bass and post a mix for you to resing over before the weekend is over Leo...

I'm feeling better about my bass today..... :-)
