The Lunkenheimer primer on our Chief is in the need of new nuts to attach the copper primer lines to the inlet and outlet ports.

The spec is:

NPT (ins)      Threads per inch (tpi)

1/8                             27

Any idea where I can purchase some?

All the best

Pete

Peter et-al:

For what it's worth, the Lunkenheimer primer on the Aeronca seems to be a tractor part.  See attached photos. The Rumely Tractors are circa 1910 to 1930 and the primer seems identical to the Aeronca installed one.

The fittings I believe to be standard "compression fittings" available in most general hardware stores (Iron Mongers to you on the other side of the pond...)  1/8inch pipe on one side and the 1/4 inch (I think) compression ring fitting on the other side.

FYI

When I needed to replace a fractured copper primer line on my Chief, my A&P just sent me to the local hardware store for nuts and compression fittings.  roger

OK, here's the drawing, it took a bit of digging... Note that it says it's applicable to the 11A, B and C fleets.

The fittings are 1/8 inch pipe and 1/8 inch tube, procured from "Imperial Brass".  Here in the States a reasonable A&P should be able to install the hardware store BRASS fittings per the guidance of AC 232-27.  I don't know how that works in the UK.

Good luck!

I believe that they are originally an air conditioning repair item and are still available. 1/8 OD copper pipe ferals

Further digging, FYI

The 1-788 drawing shows the use of a "68F 1/8 X 1/8" fitting.  Currently parts are available using this same identification, for example:

https://covalcagroup.com/en/producto/68f-brass-fittings-compression-male-connector/

Since this part identification and production by several companies has survived many decades, it should be an easy argument that the fitting is a "Standard Part" as it seems to be produced to a recognized international standard (the link takes you to a company in Panama.) and can be installed per the guidance offered in AC21-29.

FYI
