This is interesting. I owned N2426E when I was stationed in Spain. I kept it at Tablada Airfield outside Sevilla. I purchased it from a US Navy flying club at Rota Spain. When I was appointed Warrant Officer I passed it on to a chap who wanted to learn to fly. That was 1967 I think.

7AC-6005 was sold October 18, 1946 to C. E. Dickerhood d.b.a. Dickerhoof Flying Service in Chanute, Kansas and registered as N2426E. It was moved to the UK circa December 4, 1968 and registered as G-AWVN.
The full FAA registration records of its time in US registry is attached.

Subject Location of data plate
Hello Peter and Aeronca friends,
I would like some help please. I bought the 'Bill Bowker' Champ last spring and enjoy it but I can't find the manufacturers data plate which might give the day of its 80th birthday this year. Its ser no 6005.
Any help much appreciated and my Devizes/Coate strip welcomes you.
