Headwinds up...headwinds back...but what's new. However, super excellent. Y'all that put all this together, thanks soooo much. I was about 4+30 flying time each way plus one fuel stop both ways. Really nice seeing the folks on here that I had never met in person before. Here's a bunch of my pictures taken through the day Friday and Saturday. Richard...thanks for you great photos. I just saw them. Oh....1000+ hours with me in my Chief and only twice has my oil temp gauge not worked. Both times.....leaving Middletown. What's with that??? It did come to life after an hour or so both times though. However, I can monitor oil temp with the oil pressure gauge. Pressure always goes down at a previously determined rate as temp increases. roger

Excellent history post. Thanks for putting the photos up. Looks like the USAF/US Army were too busy fighting a war rather than keeping their airstrip graded or the airfield surrounds tidy. 'Bleak' would be an understatement. cheers

I dont know if I like the idea of doing a t/o with a runway lined up with parachutes. Can be interpreted many ways and I dont think is were drag chutes

Super pictures! I second that term bleak and call even that a drastic understatement also. And you're right. Those generals weren't looking any too thrilled. roger
