I need some advise as to how to install and torque the propeller hub for my tapered crank shaft C85. I have been unable to find what the torque should be.  I have attached a photo of the hub. Should I lube the tapered section of the crank so it will come off easier when I remove it?

If you don't have a torque wrench that has an adapter that will fit the hub nut, here's an approach that works.
If you weight 180 pounds, insert a bar that snugly fits the hole in the hub nut that is at least 1 foot long. A large (1/2 inch?) socket extension adapter works for me. Have someone else hold the prop from moving.  Hold onto the bar at the 1 foot mark and do a chin-up. Voila! 180 foot pounds!
Move out or in proportionally as your weight requires.

Despite other numbers posted, the Continental manual says to Torque to 200-225 Foot Pounds. Page 28 Section 6-4 under propeller installation.

Thanks Friends,

I was able to get a copy of the Club Notes by Krog and Gehring on the subject of the continental tapered shaft hub removal and installation. I used a bolt and a section of pipe that did the job, thanks.  I also used anti seize compound on the contact surfaces of the hub and crank shaft. Mission accomplished.
