Hey everybody, don't forget our CTQ2 15th annual (and maybe last) flyin
(drive in, crawl in) Saturday Sept 13 a month away.  CTQ2 is good 2,600'
grass runway (01/19)  with good approaches both ends. If driving 4945 ch
Stage Road Stanstead, QC on Google Earth.

Due to past good behavior I have opened this event up to the general
public also, so they can see various small aircraft that fly in.  There
are usually 40 to 60 aircraft fixed and rotor wing.  I keep hoping for
more innovative aircraft to attend.

Every one by choosing to attend, does so at their own risk.  And the
weather forecast looks great for the 13th.

All the sweet corn you can eat , a burger and garden things from our
U-Pic, self serve, anytime, garden and orchard for  $25.

No landing, takeoff or attendance fees.  Hay bales for kids to climb on,
trails and ponds to explore  (parents supervision required).

Beautiful, private, serene environment with views all around.

Still trying to get CDN Customs for an hour since they are so close.

See website CTQ2.ORG for some past attending aircraft images.

Check out CANUSA PROJECT INC for those interested.  Schengen anybody?

Well, the Chief has a buyer in Florida and we’re planning his flight via the southern route, down I5 to LA basin and then over.

I think it was 2014 when John took Tacky over that route and I’m trying to find his notes on getting over the Divide. John do you have the URL for that? 65 horsepower up and over.

Thanks!

Mark

I did it in 1998 and 2018... I'll research the URL, but I think I sent email updates to poobah...@westmont.edu .
Do plan on meeting up along the way: I can take time off and rendezvous somewhere - Harris Ranch, Porterville, Apple Valley, etc.
Even better, plan on an overnight at Santa Ynez!  :).
OK, but here are a few tips.
Los Banos and Santa Paula have among the best gas prices along the way.
Avoid the LA Basin like the plague. No TXPDR, no ADSB-Out results in unhappy ATC and unhappy pilots. Go north of it - Lancaster/Apple Valley/ Twenty Nine Palms, etc.
The passage through El Paso is best for minimum altitude. You do need to be in contact with ATC there but avoid landing at El Paso - they charge exorbitant fees and high fuel costs.

More later...
