Scenerio:

Your 65-8 Continental Champ has the EAA STC for use of Auto fuel non-ethenol.
You converted your 65-8 to a 75-8 through the proper modifications and paperwork.

Do you need to purchase a new STC for the 75-8 to operate with auto fuel?

Give them a call on MOnday and ask if you need to upgrade the STC you already own with an additional $15 to cover the upgrade

to the engine.    I note on the website that's the difference in cost between the 65 and the 75.

I have a Peterson’s STC for my Chief. If I read it correctly, I say no.  The STC is issued to the aircraft, not to an engine.   Peterson lists the engines that are approved by their STC to use auto fuel.  As long as the aircraft to which the STC is issued has one of those engines, then  the STC remains valid.   But as Mark said, give a call.     roger

The stc is for the engine serial number which does not change. Just a log book entry.

If I remember correctly there are two STC's, one for the engine and one for the aircraft. Peterson had a STC for my engine ( Lycoming O-145) but not for my airframe ( 50L). Bought the one for the engine and had to get a field approval for the airframe.

I just recently purchased a Peterson auto fuel STC and attached the permission sheet.

In their latest issue they are granting permission to the engine serial number and aircraft registration and aircraft serial number.

Also there is an STC for the engine and for the aircraft.

Of course the EAA may differ.

Holy Smoke!   Reading further into my 33 year old Petersen's STC paper work, it does say.  "If you eventually change engines, send in the new engine model number and $15 and we will send back new paperwork reflecting the engine change."    Guess someday I maybe should consider doing that.    roger
