I have come across a 5 page article, about a trip in an Aeronca K, from Toronto west to Saskatchewan in January of 1938, in the Fall edition of the Canadian Aviation Historical Journal. If anyone is interested in seeing a copy, I will send it off list. I scanned it to a pdf file which is too big for the list to accept.

I'd love to see that article too.  Some 40 years ago, when I was in college, I remember reading a book about touring around the country in a C-3.  I wish I could remember the title of that one.  I've been looking for it for years.

Dale,

How's the sale of your Stinson and the search for an 11BC going?

Hope you have a Merry Christmas and Santa brings you what you're searching for!

Tom,

So far, I still have not sold the Stinson HW-75. I do have a few people interested in it, however. The most promising interest right now is a guy who has two Aeronca 11BC's, but one is being inspected and prepared for airworthiness after a few years of not being flown. Tentatively, it would be some sort of a trade situation, but I would need to be assured that his was in as fine condition and airworthiness as my plane. This remains to be seen. It will probably be spring before I can make any decision.

My plane is undergoing a new annual inspection right now, the engine has already been passed, but the cold weather keeps the A&P-IA from continuing the airframe inspection in the un-heated hanger.

My medical certificate has expired, and my wife and I are planning to travel south for the rest of the winter, so I will just remove and store the bettery in a warm place, and come back in the spring. If I have anyone who needs to have a demo of my plane, one of my hanger mates is qualified, and on my insurance. He could do it while I am gone. I flew it for the last time on November 30, about 4 hours of cross country, then 12 takeoffs and landings at home field, the last one just as the sun dropped below the horizon. A really perfect day to say goodby to my favorite airplane!

Thanks for your interest.

A very Merry Christmas and a Happy New year to ALL.

Mike,

The problem may be with Ray's email server and not you. Most email setups are
limited to a 10 meg file. Yours was 12 megs so may be bounced back no matter
who sends it to him.

I forwarded it to Ray and it did not bounce. Possibly Ray's mail server
does not like Mike's ISP. I've had similar problems in the past when a
domain I was on was flagged as a possible spam source (another user had
a trojan on his computer).
