Dear Pete
I hope that you are well.
The rebuild of Fat Bullet’s fuselage is progressing slowly.
Unfortunately the blaster / sprayer has managed to misplace both control columns. This happened about a month ago.
Obviously something that I can do without but I have a small hope that they’ve been mixed up with another job and will eventually make their way back to me.
I must now, however, face the possibility that they won’t turn up and I’m faced with the job of finding another pair.
I’ve had a look through various websites with no luck yet but can you think of any other solutions to this problem? Might you, for example, know of a Chief that is being broken for spares?
I’ve noticed a website that specialises in ‘pre-war’ Aeroncas. Is there a substantial difference between the before / after Chiefs or is it an elitist thing? Fat Bullet was built in 1947. I’ve seen a left hand control column for sale (it has the control stop and an older looking wheel). Would there have been any change in the design of the tube after the war?
I’ll also put something on Facebook.
Any help welcome.
Kind regards
Pete Green
