This has become a national search, but I think I finally found someone with the skills to make me the cowlings for my '38 Chief.  He is even in driving distance from my house becuase multistate travel was an option at one point.  Just 7 more pieces to go and the airplane will be finished.
To be continue!

Way to go. . . nice when a story has an ending that you can now imagine!

Sad to report that Bruce Hughes has flown his last flight, he passed away quietly April 27th in the hospital

While not specifically an Aeronca enthusiast, he read and enjoyed the list, was able to use some of the experiences brought up

He left behind his LongEZ, his family on Kauai, his cats, his stepson Chris, and me

In tending to him in the hospital, I managed to damage my back, putting me on bed rest, so I'm a bit late getting the word out

I am very sorry to hear that.  I lived in Hawaii for 40 years and hoped we would meet one day.

Take care Candy, hope your back and heart heals soon.

Sorry to hear that Candy. . . Bruce was a good gentleman at the Arlington FlyIn and I always enjoyed chatting with him. He really loved
that LongEZ and we certainly considered him a good friend of the Aeronca family,

Take care,

Mark Peterson

Candy, I'm so sorry to hear about Bruce's passing. I'm also sorry to hear that in caring for him, you damaged your back. May you heal quickly, and may you grieve in ultimately positive ways as you remember and honor Bruce's life.

Weather looks very promising  with  moderate temperatures expected. High 70s daytime and low 60s at night with scattered thunderstorms or it wouldn't be Middletown.

Richard in OH where if you don't like the weather wait a day or so.
