Pinking size
Message
HI:
I am restoring a 1938 Aeronca 50C Chief. On the covering process I have a question regarding the number of teeth per inch that would be the correct number for pinking take of that era. I did purchase a pair of new picking shears and it has 5 teeth per inch. I also have an old picking machine from the 30s or40s (flat head screws made by GEM) and the teeth are 3.5 per inch. What would be correct? On the original drawings the teeth are made by hand and they do not have constant numbers on the amount per inch (or size as this also changes the size of them). Any help will be greatly appreciated

I confirm with EAA every year about our existence.  They've always been cordial and professional.
