Hi all,

there is a new image in the files section showin a F-4 Phantom laying
in the sea at Subic Bay/Philippines.
Does anyone know someting of its history, how it went into the sea and
what tailcode it had. Also of interest is off course what happened to
the crew.

Some details show me, that it must have been a NAVY or MARINES
aircraft.

Cheers

Here is what I found out surfing the internet.
This one scuba dive site tells that this Phantom crashed by a complete
hydraulic failure and the pilots bailed out.

I wrote one of these site-webmasters to ask for some information :-)
The answer I got was if I knew F4PHIXER (...wel..., his real name),
because he asked the same question the day before :-)

In my archive I found this one candidate : the 155870. This is the
only Navy Phantom I found untill now with the note: "Overboard near
the Phillippines".

By the way, I also wrote the USN/Marines Historical Dept. with this
question.
You will hear from me again :-)

Take care,

Hi Brooksie,

here is the link to the images of that underwater F-4.

From all that part removed it looks like it was dumped.

Cheers
