Hello Friends!
I am excited to announce that I have been chosen as the next artist in residence for the Saint Vincent DePaul "Waste Transformed" residency program.  I will be making art out of recycled goods found in the waste/donation stream at the Saint Vincent DePaul transfer center in Alameda County for the next few months, with an exhibition in June 2014.  I will keep you all updated on the date of the opening, and I will be updating my blog during the residency with photos, videos and sound pieces over the next few months.  you can read more about their artist in residence program here:

I will be posting updates from my studio here:

In other news, my amazing partner in life and art, the talented Bunnie Reiss, will be doing a residency in Brooklyn this coming April, culminating with a show in Detroit this May.  In preparation for her residency she is running a kickstarter drawing campaign, where you can get an original one of a kind drawing for a donation of $40 or more, as well as many other original art rewards!  Please take a moment to read about her project and donate if you are able.

On the music side of things, last weeks "money" episode of sound dimensions radio show was a great success! You can hear it streaming online here:

Tomorrows episode of sound dimensions radio will stream live from the Alexiteric Tea clinic in Oakland. Tomorrows show will be a special world music episode, focusing on traditional and popular music from Africa and Asia.  Tune in on www.spaz.org or come listen in live at the tea clinic! (information about the tea clinic below)

Oh yes...February’s first Tuesday fast approaches, and with each first Tuesday the Alexiteric Tea Clinic throws a Nutritious and Delicious dinner party with featured guest chefs, musicians, DJs, tea hosts and more.

This up-coming month we are honored to have the following special guests:

* Darkat (Ezra Eismont) is an OG Oakland DJ with deep respect all around and will be hosting his weekly radio show, "Sound Dimensions" from the tea clinic! You can check out old shows at www.mixcloud.com/darkat and for those who cannot make it to the tea clinic, you can listen to his live stream through www.spaz.org and/or www.sounddimensions.blogspot.com

* Nikole Lent is a previous contributor to the early days of the tea clinic. Her work with Homemade Hustle, SPAZ brunches, Celebrity Chef and her own catering business precedes her (www.nikolelent.com). Nutritious and delicious!

* We are also super excited to have a repeat appearance from last month’s surprise guest Cheung, Wa Mandy of Mandy’s Music & Art shop at 899 Broadway in Oakland’s Chinatown. She will be performing traditional Chinese string instruments guzheng and erhu.

And of course we will also enjoy the moment-by-moment, cup-by-cup vibe enhancing tunes of our well steeped resident tea clinic deck selectors Junkdrawer and Radical Edward!
