Hello.

The EZLinkPreview extension is very useful - thanks for providing it!

I have found a problem, associated with a particular site, but haven't seen it elsewhere.  I don't know if it will be reproducible.

On the site www.theatlantic.com, on the contents page for any issue of this magazine, such as:

If the mouse hovers over any of the article names along the left side of the page, such as "Pipe Dreams"

it brings up the EZ icon correctly.  However, when the overlay window comes up for that link, it usually
only shows some Flash ad content for the target page, not the page's correct content.   Sometimes the correct content comes
up briefly first, but after a second or two is replaced by the blank page with the flash content (banner ad) only.

This happens even with all other extensions disabled, on chrome 26.0.1410.28 on Mountain Lion, EZLinkPreview version 5.21.   If the problem link is
clicked normally , or either of "open link in new tab" or "open link in new window" is selected for it,  the linked page is displayed normally
in a new tab or window, with any flash banner ads where they belong, and other content displayed normally.

Thanks very much.

A couple more things to mention:

1)  The Modal version of the extension seems to have the same problem on the same site.

2)  I have not seen this behavior on any other site.

Thanks

Hi David,
Thanks for the feedback.

This sort of thing is almost certainly a function of the programming of their site.  Many sites are not fond of other people loading their pages into frames (that's what ezLinkPreview does), so they put in scripts to either prevent this or to discourage it.  At the atlantic, I see the desired page load first and then almost immediately get replaced with an ad.

I am afraid that for sites that do this there is not much I can do; however, here is a workaround that might be good enough for you:

1. go to ezLinkPreview options page.
2. scroll to bottom and find option called "Preview in ViewText.org".
3. type theatlantic.com and click the add button
4. Scroll to top of page and click svae.

No reload the atlantic site in a new tab and try the previews.  You should see the articles in a "readable" format with no more ad.

Let me know if that works,
Erik
