I have been using ezLink Preview for some time now, normally with good success.  However, over the last couple months I am getting fewer successful 'preview' when I hover over the icon.  I think it is working about 30 to 40% of the time - for the others, nothing happens other than the preview window opens blank and stays that way.  I can click on the original link and go to the site so I know the links are OK.  Is there something that has changed or perhaps another option I can use to increase the actual preview success rate?

Since version 30 of chrome, google has changed security settings such that if you are on an https site you can no longer preview http sites.

You can defeat this by launching chrome with reduced security via a flag, or by clicking the shield that appears in the omnibar when attempting preview.  See my notes in the chrome web store description of ezLinkPreview.

I am seeing if there is anything else I can do about this, but it seems google has tied my hands...

Thanks for your quick response Erik.  Sad that Google is putting you thru so many hoops - yours is one of the most useful extensions in Chrome.  Re: your response, I'm not sure what the Omnibar is that you mention, nor the 'shield' that you mention pops up.  One other thing I have noticed - in several of these links the ezPreview icon now shows up 3 or 4 lines below the link, even tho I have specified it to be on the right side.

The omnibar is what google calls the address bar where you type urls or searches. Try this:
1. Perform a Google search for something.
2. In the results, try to preview any link
3. The popup comes up blank, and in the address bar on the right you see a gray shield.
4. Click the shield, then click load unsafe script.
5. Page reloads, now try previewing links again, should work.

Unfortunately, you would have to repeat the procedure each time you reload or revisit the page .

Can you give me an example of pages where the ez icon is in the wrong place?

Thanks again Erik - the process of clicking on the shield worked.  The only place I consistently see the icon in the wrong place is on the new 'My Yahoo' page where I have several sections of various information.  Each of these sections has headline links to information - when I hover on one of these links the icon shows up either on the 3rd or 4th headline below it.  For most everything else the icon is in the correct place.  Yahoo recently implemented a new 'My Yahoo' page and format and that is where it is happening.  Nearly everything I read says their new format and page have been really negatively accepted and I think many users (including me) will uninstall it unless they make some serious changes or allow us to move back to the old format.  So I wouldn't waste any time on that issue.

I have reproduced the issue on myyahoo. A quick workaround for now is to hold the Alt key and hover over the link to open a preview instead of using the icon. As you say, I won't bother fixing the icon position for now; we'll see if yahoo sticks with this layout...
