Since the user reviews section in the Chrome Web Store is no longer in chronological order by default, it is difficult to find and respond to issues that are listed there.  Please use this group to get better support and more easy to follow conversations.

I appreciate all feedback (good and bad) on my extension.

hi erik

i think your extension has two parts: preview and search engines. preview part is excellent and customizable. but search engines part needs more options. 

i use both your extension (for preview) and cleeki (for search). but i want to use only your extension. so i have some suggestions

1 the biggest problem, we cant adjust delay time for the search engines window. and it should appear horizantal to prevent wrong clicks and should be added more than 9 search engines like cleeki

2 every search engine must have their own windows size. for example i listen a song on youtube and selected song name and looked up lyrics site with extension. if i could adjust window size smaller for lyric site it wont be on over the video

3 middle clicking to a search engine icon should open it in new tab

4 when preview window open if i select a new text on site it should search new text on preview window. for example i'm reading something and need dictionary for lots of words. preview window should stay open and every time i select a new word it should search on selected search engine (dictionary in that case and its allready open on preview window for last word) :)

this is the way i use cleeki and i want to see theese options on ezlinkpreview

and there are some bugs

1 dragging preview window selects whole things on websites and makes window not dragable 

2 split screen is not working on facebook

3 on click outside preview popup options is not working correctly. leave preview open is selected but it disappers even if i dont click outside

i use chromium 20.0.1096.0 on win7 64bit

Thanks for the feedback (your English is perfect)!

Chrome version 20 is the beta or dev release, not the stable release.
I only support the stable release (currently 18.0) because DEV and
BETA are always changing, so a problem may appear one update and then
disappear the next update.

Facebook prevents itself from opening in frames, so it will not work
in preview or split screen. This is true of any site with
frame-busting code (e.g. twitter, NYTimes, etc.) There is nothing I
can do to force facebook into split screen as they prevent it
deliberately.

I will look into enhancing the search functions according to your
suggestions. I am one developer with a full time job and family, so
my free time to work on this extension is limited. It will take me
some time to get these features done. I will let you know as I add
them...

thank you for your response and explanation about facebook (and frame-busting sites)

bugs arent major problems. dev releases may cause i see. 

i'm looking forward new versions with improved search functions. you already did a great job. thank you.

By the way your number 4 ("4 when preview window open if i select a
new text on site it should search") already exists. In extension
options page go to "On click outside preview popup" and select "Leave
preview open". This will keep the preview open and every time you
select new text on the page it will be searched.

Also your number 1, the delay time can be set in the options page: go
to "EZ icon delay (milliseconds)" and enter the number of milliseconds
delay you want.

I have made a quick update (version 4.41):

- Search buttons popup stays open while mouse cursor is over it.
- Middle-click a search button in the popup to open the search in a
new tab instead of a popup.

Hello, tester here, congratulation for this awesome plugin.

Here is the only thing upgraded I would really enjoy to see :

This is a problem with noelshack.com. They use frame-busting code that prevents their site from opening in a frame/popup. However, you can do the following:

1. Go to ezLinkPreview Options page.

2. Find the last option called " Preview in ViewText.org "
3. Type in noelshack.com and click the Add button.

4. Go to the top of the page and click the Save button.

Now reload you page http://www.jeuxvideo.com/forums/1-51-28317850-1-0-1-0-tuto-lire-les-topic-tres-rapidement.htm and try previewing the jpg at noelshack.com again.

Out of curiosity, what is the French term for "Frame Busting or Frame Killer"?

It's a hard translation, generally french coders use english terms,
some specific words like this one would sound unnatural when
translated.

I've browsed the web and found a good french source who translated it
litteraly "destructeur de frame" and yes its frenglish lol.

Going back to work, trying to convert the community above mentioned to
use your plugin for a faster life experience :p

I am having a problem with Facebook and ezlink preview. I hover over a link and the preview pops up but it stays blank. I have to click to open a new tab to see the page. I use this to get stuff from the games to save time but when I have to open another tab it does not save much time. Is there a setting I can change to get this working? Thanks.

Facebook does not allow itself to run in Frames because of click-jacking problems in the past. There is nothing I can do about that.  

This workaround can work for some sites that look ok in ViewText.org format: Go to the extension options page, find the "Preview in ViewText.org" option and add the site (e.g. type nytimes.com, then click add).Make sure to click SAVE at the top of the page and reload any tabs you already have open.Try your links to that site again.

I only plan to support Chrome. You can try CoolPreviews in FF.
