It looks like the 105 board is exactly like my 102 board, so I imagine
I can program, power, and communicate with it in exactly the same
way. Is that correct? The EarthLCD webpage says it runs on 12V power
but the manual says 9V. Which is correct? Why is it cheaper then the
102? Is the controller board fixed to the back of the screen? Is
there a small inverter board like the 102 has? If so, is it fixed to
the screen as well?
What are the differences between the EDK and non-EDK versions? Do
they both come with cables (USB, RS232)? Only the EDK page says
"(power supply included)" so I guess the non-EDK does not.
Please describe the optional enclosure, its size, shape (rectangular I
assume) and color. is it plastic or aluminum? Does it add to the
cost? Which, if any, input / output ports are left exposed. Are
there any images of it? How do I specify if I want it or not on the
checkout screen?
It might be better for me to enclose it myself as I want to protect
the power and rs232 ports. I also want to use the SD card to record
debug / fault information so I don’t want people to be able to remove
it without opening the box.
Thanks for your time.

The ezLCD+102 is being discontinued, it's replacement is the ezLCD
+105. What ever you have written for the +102 will work on the +105.
It costs less because the new LCD panel uses LED lighting instead of
CFL, so there is no inverter. The cables and the power supply only
come with the EDK version. The +105 can be powered with +9V to +36V,
the brick supplied with the EDK is a standard +12V unit. The optional
enclosure is painted (black) aluminum. I will have to get you the
outside dimensions, it is the same as the enclosure for the +102 if
that helps. It does supply access to the connectors, but in a "well"
which supplies some protection to where the cables connect. The
connectors are the power, 9-pin serial, SD, USB-B, CN2 (pinout listed
in manual). See page 13 of +105 manual.
Hope this helps.

You said the 105 has the same view size as the 102? I thought it was
bigger (8" vs. 6.4") it looks bigger in the images on earthLCD. Also
I didn’t know there was an enclosure for the 102.
Does the case cost extra? If so, how do I specify whether or not I
want it?
Also is the 105 as bright as the 102? I was told that the 102 was
exactly the same as the 101 except screen size. The 101 says it puts
out 400cd/m2 so I assume the 102 puts out something similar (am I
wrong?). The 105 manual says it only puts out 250cd/m2.
Thanks for the help.

How do I order 105 with the optional enclosure?
Does it cost extra?
Any Pictures?
What are its dimensions?
Does the case have any means to attach it to something else, like a
bracket or some screw holes?
Is the 105 as bright as the 102?
Also, I have noticed that if I drop the 102's brightness down below
55, but still above 0, it goes completely dark and won’t respond to
any other command. It still reports button presses and releases
though. It’s easy enough to code a limit on how low I set the
brightness but I was wondering why this would happen?
Finally my 102 has suddenly started (noticed it for the first time two
days ago) reporting false button presses. I copied some code from
another post and made it draw circles whenever it detected a
"TouchDn". Occasionally when I press anywhere on the screen it will
detect a second press, usually in the middle right of the screen, or
slightly to the left of that. I recently built the 102 into a plastic
enclosure. The boards have been screwed down using the supplied
holes. The touch sensor was framed to a screen opening with rubber
tape and then sandwiched by the 102's screen using the supplied
brackets and some plastic rivets. I also added a small level shifter
circuit that plugged directly into the RS232 and supplied regulated
12v power to the 102 through the CN1 connector. Could this have
somehow damaged the sensitivity of the screen? I have since removed
it from the enclosure and powered it using the supplied regulator but
I still get the false touch. Any hints as to what happened, how i can
fix it, prevent it from happening again?
Thanks for the help
